Helpful tips
Remember – You want to remove the dirt and germs as best as possible and not just move it around.
- Ensure your tools are always clean and disinfected. Wipe them down during cleaning and at the end of day. Including mops…many with disposable heads so you can put in washer
- Spend a reasonable amount to purchase the best tools to do the job required
- Avoid mixing chemicals/products – could be hazardous
- Read the labels to know HOW/WHEN/WHERE to use cleansers
- Use gloves (disposable or reusable)
- Clean with the insight of how the space or item is used to help identify key areas
- Clean from the cleanest (least soiled) items to the dirtiest (most soiled)
- Identify the ‘High Traffic” areas, ‘Touch Surfaces”, etc. to determine the frequency of cleaning required
- Take the time to be thorough with a good ‘wash’ rather than a ‘gentle wipe’ of all surfaces and items
- Use multiple cloths to avoid cross contamination (ie: bathroom counters vs toilets)
